A child is born 1992-2002
When our son James was born in 1992, Scot was reborn. Everything inside him that was innocent and sweet--sprang forth. His work became all about color and simplicity and connection with the brightness of being made eternal--via parenthood. For ten years, we sold this work at the country's top juried art fairs. It meant a lot to Scot to have this audience. It was exciting to see so many people respond to and engage with Scot's profoundly human visual philosophy. Click to search image library »

AD (after diagnosis) 2003-2008
In September of 2003, we found out that Scot had a benign, but inoperable brain tumor. Traveling became difficult. Life changed and so did his artwork. He began doing ballpoint pen drawings on typing paper--by the ream. The drawings were lose and personal; full of all the dark corners he was experiencing. He began first by scanning these drawings and then layering them with digital information. The work became a rich, personal statement about the healing properties of art.
